Last week was a food challenge, so this week we are going to focus on EXERCISE! The challenge is to INCREASE YOUR INTENSITY during your exercise.
You get to decide HOW you do it. You can choose to exercise for a LONGER period of time. If you are exercising 45 minutes a day, bump it up to 60 minutes.
You can choose to change HOW you exercise. Maybe you've gotten a little lazy and you're not giving it 100%. If this is you, step it up. Push yourself a little harder. Sweat a little more. You're taking the time to exercise, you might as well burn as many calories as you can during that time!
You could choose to change WHAT you're doing. If you run the same distance every day or exercise to the same video 5 days a week, change it. Run a little further, or change your route. Find a big hill to run up. Exchange workout videos with a friend (they're probably looking for a change as well)!
Only you know what is missing in your workouts. So, make a commitment to work a little harder this week. Every day that you increase your intensity during a workout, you earn 6 points FOR A TOTAL OF 30 points. Please remember that because you are earning points for exercise 5 days a week, you can only get these bonus points on those 5 days.
We are also going to have a 5 point journal entry this week. Here is the question I want you to answer:
What are your priorities?
So the increased intensity is worth 30 points and the journal entry is worth 5 points for a total of 35 bonus points.
GOOD LUCK,
Kim
So, I've decided what I'll do for this one. I will work out extra in the morning before I go to work. I know if I wait until after I will be too exhausted. :) I can do this challenge!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to post my journal entry here. Hope no one minds. What are my priorities? My first priority is to live the way God wants me to live. My second priority is to my husband and children. My third priority is to keep teaching parenting classes, writing a business plan, and keep moving forward on preparations for Skylight Respite Ranch.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I may not be losing weight, but I have stamina! Before lunch, I walked down 48 stairs, went out the front door of my work, walked all the way around to the back, walked around the lake that is the size of a football field twice, came in on the lowest level, walked (with taking a few steps two at time) up 72 stairs, and beat the people up that rode up the elevator. They were getting on the elevator when I walked by. They had just been out to smoke their cigarette. I was a little winded, but I could still talk. And it only took me about 20 minutes to complete. I still need 25 more minutes of exercize!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I brought strawberries and yogurt for my snack. It is vanilla yogurt. I knew that it had sugar in it, but I didn't know 32 grams of sugar? That is incredible. Maybe I will have to try the plain and see how many grams it has.
Does that make sense? I walked by on the level one as they were getting on the elevator. I was faster at coming up the stairs than the elevator. Yea!
ReplyDeleteKelly, try lite yogurt. A 6 oz. carton of lite yogurt is equal to 8 oz. of milk.
