I am going to post results 2 ways this week. The first way is with the 3 teams we originally started with. The only 2 left on team 1 are Krista and Cindy so I took their points, averaged them, and made that into the points of the other three participants.
Team 1 (Krista and Cindy) came in first place!!
Team 2 (Kelly, Kim, Blenda, Diane, and Charlyn) came in second place!!
Team 3 (Kerry, Laura, Erin, Janna, and Rachel) came in third place!!
Then I wanted to put those individual scores into what the teams are now (and this is how I will report the rest of the challenge). We have uneven teams so I took Team 1's average and used that number for their remaining participant (and will do that for the rest of our challenge).
Team 1 (Krista, Cindy, Rachel, Matt, Blenda, and Kim) came in first place!!
Team 2 (Kerry, Laura, Erin, Janna, Charlyn, Diane, and Kelly) came in second place!!
BIGGEST LOSERS (rounded to nearest pound but in order):
Cindy - 4 pounds
Krista - 4 pounds
Rachel - 3 pounds
Laura - 3 pounds
Kelly - 3 pounds
Congratulations!! As a whole we lost over 20 pounds last week!!
Everyone did awesome!! Some of us (me included) didn't lose any weight this week but don't get discouraged by that. Make it an incentive to work harder!! Weight can fluctuate from day to day so next week your weigh in might surprise you. It is very important to get all your points. If you are having problems in a particular area talk to me or one of your teammates for helpful ideas. That is what we are here for.
But I only lost 4 lbs...

ReplyDeleteOne more comment about reporting points. I was wondering how some of you got 29 points for sweets when that shouldn't be possible (although I figured that you must have had 2 days with 1 sweet each and counted all 7 days). That is NOT allowed. Your total of 30 points must be from those 6 remaining days. So, you can get 27 , 25, or 24 points but nothing between 27 and 30. It won't change results this week but for the future, keep that in mind.

Good job kim! I was up a half lb yesterday and right at my monday weight this morning. I'm trying not to get discouraged lol. I hate trying to be so good and not seeing results. Oh well, I'll keep trying.
ReplyDeleteI think that I did 29 points as I had a saltwater taffy on Monday; you first said to take a point off (you debated whether this one piece of candy would count as a point or not - this is how I got 29 points; you can adjust my points as needed). I didn't have any other sweets except for my sweet day.

ReplyDeleteOk, I understand the sweet rule now but I don't agree with it. It means you could eat unlimited sweets one day. Rather than eat unlimited sweets one day, I think it would be better to have just one small sweet on two different days. Well, I will watch how I count that next time. Also, a "sweet" is so broad. Some things others are counting fruit and other categories, I would call a sweet because there is sugar added. But, that is ok, I will stick with how I was taught when I was pregnant.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Blenda...it is a broad definition of a sweet. We were not really told what a sweet was besides cookies, cakes, brownies, pie, donuts, etc. I have found that if you get in all your fruits / veggies then you don't have enough room for endless desserts on your sweet day. We are trying to teach wellness here and I'm sure the way you were taught while pregnant is the best way to go. Sometimes I think a better way to make us be able to get full points is NO sweet on any other day except our sweet day so there is not partial points. Maybe as a group we can brainstorm something that is a better way to do this but you are right...if you are pigging out on sweets on your sweet day then you are defeating the purpose of this challenge. Too bad I didn't have gestation diabetes ;)
