Week 6 reporting points

You made it!! Yesterday was the last day of our first fall wellness challenge. I hope you were successful in refusing to snitch any Halloween candy. I know for me it was hard but I did succeed!! In fact a sister from my ward came up to me during our trunk or treat and had noticed that I had not eaten any candy. She also knew about my wellness challenge and is going to participate in my next one!! And I must say resisting at the trunk or treat was HARD. They had cotton candy (not too tempting), donuts (very tempting), apple cider (I decided that was OK so drank 2 small cups), and I was holding a big bowl of candy and didn't sneak even 1. I wish my weigh in reflected my resistance but my measurements sure did :)

So, it is time to jump on that scale for the final time (ok...maybe you shouldn't jump...you don't want to break it after all), and get out your measuring tape. Fill out the yellow boxes in your spreadsheet. You will need to report the blue boxes to me via your team color link on the left side of the blog. There is one more thing I want you to do. I couldn't figure out how to get your spreadsheets to do it so you will have to do it by hand (if you have problems then call me and I will help you). I want you to figure out your % of weight lost. To do this you follow these steps (you will probably need a calculator):
  1. enter in your starting weight from the initial setup page
  2. subtract your ending weight from today
  3. divide by your starting weight
  4. multiply by 100
This number will be your % weight lost. Now multiply that number by 10. That number will be the points you earned for the % weight loss.

In the comments section as you are reporting point, put those numbers in (or you can tell me your initial setup weight and your ending weight and I can figure it up for you). So you should have 2 extra numbers. Then I will re-figure up your total points for the challenge. I realize that I have probably completely confused you. You can always call me if you want to :)

Have a happy Halloween and don't eat too much candy. You don't want to undo everything you have worked for the past 6 weeks.

  1. I just reported points and there is a spot for putting in your weight loss % points. So add that number you get there. Then you can add it to your total in your spreadsheet to get your new total. I'm sorry that I didn't get that into your spreadsheet. I am going to have to remedy that for our next challenge. Once again, call me if you need to.

  2. OK...one more change. I got the spreadsheet figured out. For your numbers, use your lowest overall weight (which might NOT be this week...mine wasn't) for the second step. The rest of it is figured out the same.

  3. Let's see...My weight loss number is 27.3224044. I did not meet my bonus challenge. I think this had to do with setting so many goals (next time I'll have to focus on a few and build up from there). I'm not disappointed, as I am more active than I've been in a while and I got halfway to my goal weight despite eating out a few times. I'm really glad I had the opportunity to take part in this challenge! Thank you!-Sarah
